The PC800 is home! All it took was topping off the oil and electricity and it fired right up. No trouble on the 90 minute back road ride home, and it restarted just fine after I parked it. I’m psyched.

Of course, I’m going to be selling it just as soon as I have my “new” bike going. But at least I have something to ride now. Naturally, today was rainy with temperatures in the 40s, so I didn’t exactly get out for a ride today.

I remember those. Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve seen one.

Where are the front wheel spats/covers?

I had no idea the trunk opened like that.

Honda started cheaping out toward the end of production, and omitted many features the last couple of years - stereo, self-canceling turn signals, and they gave it a normal front fender instead of the fairing sort of thing. Mine’s a 97, the last year made. According to Wikipedia there were only about 500 made that year.

I know, right? It’s cavernous - more space than hard bags on much bigger bikes. Plus the previous owner added the Givi top trunk. It's set up for touring, and I've done some. The pic is from my trip to ride the Cabot Trail a couple of years ago.

You’re going to be selling it?

Oh gosh. I may be in the market to buy it. I’ve been thinking about getting a 2nd (ok, and a 3rd) bike soon and a long distance cruiser is one of them.

Yes, once I get my new-to-me Marauder on the road I’ll be selling the PC. Why? My riding has changed. I don’t have time for long tours these days. I’ve also found that a cruiser suits my conservative riding style a bit better, and a friend is making me a very good deal on one.

Two things to keep in mind about long distance trips on the PC:

It has a 4.2 gallon gas tank. At 40ish mpg, that’s not a lot of range. It’s the main reason I decided not to go cross country on this bike.

Parts are getting more rare. I needed new coils (and a bunch of other work) last summer, and even the Honda dealer had to get used ones, because new coils aren’t available. Bad news if you have a problem in a remote area. And the body panels are made of extremely brittle unobtainium.

That said, if you’re interested in my bike in particular and anywhere near Massachusetts, we can talk.

Thanks, good stuff to know. That’s about the mileage/range my Katana gets and this would be a lot more comfortable with trips with the GF. Good/sad to know about the parts :-/

I’m in Worcester, you’re in Framingham or so I think right?

Let me know when you goto sell, or what you’re thinking of for a price.

Oh wow, you're very local! Yes, we can definitely talk once I'm ready to sell. Guess I'll have to think about a price!
